The astronomical history maker had underwent heart surgery weeks ago and recently celebrated his 82nd birthday. According to a statement, he had passed shortly after complications resulting from cardiovascular procedures.
I remember visiting the Neil Armstrong Air and Space Museum in Armstrong's hometown of Wapakoneta, OH, (just miles south of my hometown of Lima) twice on field trips as a kid, and I am not sure what the museum will do in light of his death.
